Abstract

Money is an intermediary in the exchange, binding in its territory of exercise, it is a pragmatic currency of general equivalent and it is an instrument reserve of value. The question has often been asked whether it is the State that confers its value on money. Formerly linked to a weight of precious metals, it is now based on confidence in its usefulness and its relationship with credits, in the context of the different liquidity positions of economic agents.
