Abstract

Depuis l'apparition du terme de Big Data en 1997, les données massives se sont développées à une vitesse de plus en plus accélérée et les algorithmes les traitant se sont déployés dans nombre d'activités. Dans un contexte où une part importante de ces données sont des informations personnelles, cette 19e Rencontre de la Chaire VP-IP qui s'est tenue le 25 juin 2020 visait à faire le point sur les changements réellement introduits par les données massives et l'usage des algorithmes (modification de surface, d'échelle, de nature, …). En faisant débattre des chercheurs issus de différentes disciplines (physique, informatique, sciences de l'information, philosophie), il s'agissait aussi de poser la question des types de modèles et d'usages à même d'assurer la confiance dans le numérique.
