La cohésion européenne à l'épreuve des inégalités interpersonnelles de revenus

Abstract

Les écarts régionaux de développement en Europe ne doivent pas masquer ses inégalités interpersonnelles de revenus - dont la progression, ces dernières années, menace la poursuite, très fragile, de sa cohésion. Des inégalités plus ou moins importantes selon les pays membres, qui proviennent tant du fonctionnement actuel de nos économies que des comportements étatiques et individuels. L'analyse révèle que ces inégalités ont désormais un impact négatif sur la croissance, dans la mesure où elles affaiblissent la cohésion qui en est le cadre ou le support. Cette cohésion est en effet minée par une rupture du processus de formation et de qualification, ainsi que par une rupture de la dynamique productive. Dans ce contexte, la réduction des inégalités qui s'impose ne peut se limiter à une seule stratégie de redistribution.
