Abstract

The "entrepreneurial university" was proposed to reflect changes in universities: in order to better meet the needs of their socio-economic environment, universities are called upon to transform themselves by adopting managerial practices inspired by private companies. In this exploratory communication, we discuss the topicality of this notion, its interest and its limits, starting from its origin in the international context. Then, we discuss its limited relevance in the French context: rather than an institution-centered approach, we propose a systemic approach that takes into account the characteristics of the overall organization of research and higher education in France.
