Abstract

The concept of recognition at work achieves a growing interest in management sciences but remains largely studied as a rewarding process and some researchers are pleading for an investigation of its social form. To do so, a social form of recognition based on the organizational development of self-esteem is of particular interest as it enables the emergence of specific processes within organizations. Our empirical data, stemming from a Corporate University case study we built up, offers an analytical framework aiming at understanding how organizations take care of individuals' expectations regarding social recognition.
