Abstract

Michel Bauwens became known through his work on peer-to-peer, of which he is one of the main theorists, and through the establishment of the P2P Foundation, in which he continues to carry out his research and consulting activities for governments and cities. His research interests include the prospective assessment of digital technologies and social uses and the analysis of information commons. In his last two studies, Values in the Commons Economy and Accounting for Planetary Survival, which are widely referred to in the interview, Michel Bauwens deals with new forms of accounting for activity, as well as with the promises generated by the well-understood integration of digital innovations, such as the blockchain, in the organization and functioning of the commons. The interview took place last October, with exchanges rich in questions and prospective proposals on the relationship between technological innovation and societal innovation.
