Abstract

Depuis une vingtaine d'années, de nombreuses incitations publiques et initiatives privées ont essaye d'apporter une réponse globale et locale aux processus de décomposition et de recomposition des sociétés rurales françaises. Ce mouvement social aux multiples visages est sorti des zones marginales rurales dans lesquelles il se cantonnait, pour s'étendre aux zones industrielles en difficulté et aux quartiers urbains, a l'ensemble du territoire, jusqu'à devenir un phénomène de société, voire l'une des principales formes de renouvellement du tissu social, de la vie économique et de la démocratie.
