Abstract

L'objectif de cette communication est d'apporter des éléments de réponse aux questions suivantes : Existe-t-il une dimension régionale du phénomène des difficultés financières des agriculteurs ? Ou bien s'agit-il de difficultés individuelles réparties dans toutes les régions ? L'analyse sera menée en trois étapes. Il paraît d'abord nécessaire de situer le contexte économique dans lequel s'expriment les difficultés financières. Il nous semble en effet opportun de montrer que l'ensemble des exploitations agricoles, subit, du fait de la crise, de fortes contraintes financières. Ce sera l'objet d'une première partie. Dans la seconde, nous préciserons la notion de difficulté financière. Ce concept est peu précis et son emploi soulève plusieurs problèmes, qui trouvent leur traduction dans la définition des populations concernées. Enfin, la dernière partie sera consacrée à l'analyse des caractéristiques d'un groupe particulier d'agriculteurs en difficulté. On étudiera leur répartition régionale et l'on essaiera de l'interpréter.
