Labour and pluriactivity in agriculture theoretical analysis and application to French case

Abstract

Les revenus d'origine non agricole représentent une part croissante du total des ressources des ménages agricoles français. Pour une large part, ils sont liés à la pluriactivité, notamment des femmes. Ce livre a pour objectif principal d'analyser les facteurs explicatifs des formes d'emploi dans l'agriculture française. Deux aspects sont développés. Le premier, analytique, conduit à la construction d'un cadre théorique permettant d'expliquer les arbitrages en matière de travail du ménage agricole. Le second, de nature empirique, conduit à rechercher les déterminants des décisions de travail des ménages agricoles français, à savoir l'utilisation de travail salarié sur l'exploitation, l'exercice d'une activité professionnelle non agricole à la fois pour le chef d'exploitation et son épouse.
