Abstract

Over the past few years, the question of decision making in the supply chain context has become increasingly important in management science. Initially referring to a pure algorithmic substantive rationality, decision making processes now integrate political dimensions based on actors' strategies; rationality has become more procedural. A perspective based on categories of decisions and modes of management is proposed to show that the logistical approach is at the intersection between innovation and optimization. From this point of view, thinking about decision in logistics emphasises the relevance of the approach developed by Herbert Simon.
