Abstract

La pause méridienne des actifs est soumise à de fortes contraintes de temps ainsi qu'à une série d'arbitrages aussi différents que l'organisation du ménage ou les choix alimentaires. Dans l'appareil statistique Français, la restauration collective est une catégorie essentiellement appréhendée en termes monétaires qui ne renseignent que très partiellement les pratiques auxquelles ils correspondent. A partir de l'analyse secondaire de l'enquête Emploi du temps 2009-2010, cet article propose une approche exploratoire des temps et lieux consacrés à la pause méridienne des actifs en étant particulièrement attentif aux caractéristiques sociales. Nous montrons que si l'éventail des lieux possibles de repas hors domicile diffère selon la position sociale, en revanche les durées consacrées à la pause méridienne varient selon les lieux mais pas selon les caractéristiques sociales. Nos résultats montrent aussi que le genre reste un facteur fondamental dans la compréhension des pratiques de repas hors domicile, les pratiques des femmes restant dans la continuité de l'univers domestique par rapport à celle des hommes.
