L'hérédité fiscale en agriculture : l'origine sociale des petits paysans

Abstract

Les inégalités socio-économiques sont-elles héréditaires ? Comment devient-on petit paysan ? Dans l'ensemble de la société, la probabilité d'atteindre telle position sociale s'avère assez fortement inégale selon l'origine sociale. L'existence d'une «inégalité des chances» est communément admise, même si l'importance du lien entre origine et destination et son évolution dans le temps font l'objet de nombreuses controverses (Bertaux 1974, Bénéton 1975, Thélot 1976). Pour les tenants de la thèse de l'hérédité sociale, la liaison est explicative. Sans doute admettent-ils l'existence d'une hérédité biologique mais ils refusent de donner à celle-ci un rôle prépondérant par rapport à l'influence du milieu familial et social.
