Is it possible to maintain biomass in mountain zone?

Abstract

Cet article rend compte d'une recherche visant a evaluer s'il est possible d'apporter des elements d'appreciation chiffres dans une controverse sur les aides publiques aux activites agricole et forestiere en montagne. La controverse oppose les partisans du systeme actuellement pratique en France (et dans la CEE) aux partisans d'une suppression totale de ces aides avec gestion du patrimoine naturel par un service public. Le travail effectue a montre que, sur la zone pilote ou a lieu l'etude, aucun des deux modes de gestion ne l'emporterait de facon determinante. Mais la capacite de generaliser de telles etudes depend beaucoup de l'accessibilite a des informations qu'il n'est pas habituel de collecter.
