Economical approach of intensive production

Abstract

Dans une première partie de cet article, l'auteur propose une base théorique pour analyser l'intensification. Il insiste sur le rôle des rapports de prix des facteurs et du progrès technique sur le choix des combinaisons productives. Par ailleurs, il présente l'hypothèse du progrès technique induit. Les deuxième et troisième parties s'appuient sur les comptes départementaux de l'agriculture. Elles permettent de montrer que les différents départements, en dépit d'écarts importants quant a la dotation en facteurs, ont suivi la même évolution générale. Elle est caractérisée par la substitution des consommations intermédiaires, du capital et de la terre au travail. Le taux de croissance de la productivité totale des facteurs a varié de façon considérable selon les régions: a titre d'exemple, les départements tournes vers les grandes cultures (céréales en particulier) ont bénéficie d'une évolution plus favorable que les départements laitiers et les régions méditerranéennes.
