Sustainable development and energy balance of farms

Abstract

L'analyse énergétique, qui comptabilise en entrée les énergies non renouvelables, en sortie l'énergie brute des produits de l'exploitation agricole, procure-t-elle des indicateurs de développement durable ? A partir d'exemples, il est montré que, en simplifiant la complexité tout en la quantifiant, l'efficacité énergétique révèle l'autonomie de l'exploitation, son recours aux ressources locales et aux énergies non renouvelables. Par ailleurs, on constate que les productions végétales ont de meilleures efficacités énergétiques qu'il y a 20 ans et que l'analyse énergétique est appropriée pour comparer différents itinéraires techniques d'une production donnée, ainsi que pour l'évaluation interne de l'exploitation.
