Abstract

La modification de la qualité des milieux aquatiques et leurs dépréciations peuvent avoir des conséquences qui sont loin d'être négligeables, tant pour les écosystèmes qu'ils abritent que pour les usages de l'eau et des activités économiques qui s'y exercent. D'ailleurs, on peut attribuer un coût à la détérioration de la qualité des eaux. Ces mêmes coûts peuvent devenir des bénéfices pour la collectivité en cas de non-détérioration. Telle est la démonstration de l'article, qui présente des méthodes pour connaître le coût économique et social de la détérioration de la qualité des eaux sur le secteur marchand, mais également sur les activités non marchandes.
