Abstract

Cet article vise à montrer qu'un recours à la notion de convention est nécessaire pour appréhender la construction sociale d'un problème global d'environnement, tel que le maintien de la diversité biologique. Les conditions et le lieu d'une gestion collective de la biodiversité s'élaborent au sein d'une "convention d'environnement" qui fournit aux différents acteurs un référentiel commun en termes d'objectifs, de diagnostics, de mécanismes institutionnels ou politiques à mettre en oeuvre. L'approche conventionnaliste permet alors de mettre l'accent sur les conflits de légitimité.
