Abstract

L'objectif de l'article est d'analyser en détail l'intérêt économique que peut constituer le boisement de terres agricoles. Dans une première section, les auteurs définissent les critères économiques utilisés. Ils présentent ensuite les principaux scénarios de boisement qu'ils étudient. La troisième partie est consacrée à l'évaluation de la rentabilité économique des différents scénarios de boisement. Celle-ci est comparée à la rentabilité des cultures annuelles dans une quatrième partie. Les auteurs montrent notamment qu'en l'état actuel des réglementations (politique agricole commune et forestières) le boisement des terres agricoles est peu probable. Dans le cadre de la réforme de la politique agricole commune et de la mise en place d'aides découplées l'agroforesterie pourrait trouver un certain intérêt.
