Abstract

Wondering about the dynamics of the evolution of various cotton policies in Dahomey ( Benin ) over the long period, this article mobilizes the theory of path dependence to arise the institutional dynamic corresponding. From this theory, the paper identifies four sequences starting from the choices operated during the "critical junctures". The analysis of these policies' trajectory reveals a succession of rupture and continuity of path dependences which punctuated various institutional models.
