Abstract

The Demeter Club regularly brings together the actors of the French agri-food complex on an associative basis and the Demeter reports annually on their concerns. Jointly published with the Institute of International and Strategic Relations (Iris), a geopolitical think tank, the 2019 edition of the Demeter addresses the strategic issues of agricultural production and food processing that are demographics urbanization, globalization of trade political instability, techno-organizational innovations and other factors that may affect large (un) food balances. The book is structured in three parts: "Agrosphères" endeavors to explore the global equations of food security and the geopolitical dynamics at work; "Regards d'avenir" is a prospective study of Europe's future centered on the emergence of innovative productions; finally, "Benchmarks" gives figures on agriculture and food, in France and over the world.
