Abstract

La décision est un objet qui a été très étudié en sciences sociales, même si elle a paru moins centrale depuis quelques temps. Historiennes et historiens ont aussi contribué à étudier la décision, sans pour autant contribuer à ces premiers travaux. Cet éditorial note que les dialogues sont assez faibles entre historiens et autres chercheurs en sciences sociales, alors qu'ils pourraient être fructueux. L'objectif du dossier présenté est de contribuer à ce dialogue. Il s'agit aussi de s'interroger sur un paradoxe : la persistance de la « solitude du décideur » sur le terrain, qui contredit les résultats des travaux en sciences sociales. Le dossier vise enfin à discuter des méthodes disponibles pour étudier la décision en histoire et en sciences sociales (archives et entretiens en particulier).
