L'évolution des chaînes de valeur dans l'industrie des jeux vidéo

Abstract

Après avoir présenté quelques données de marché montrant la croissance régulière de l'industrie des jeux vidéo, c'est l'organisation industrielle du secteur jusqu'au début des années 2000 qui est analysée. Les stratégies relationnelles développées par les fabricants de consoles, les développeurs et les éditeurs, les acteurs " historiques " du secteur sont au coeur de l'analyse. Quant aux mouvements stratégiques des différentes entreprises engagées dans ce secteur, ce sont surtout les partenariats (avec des fournisseurs de contenus et/ou des éditeurs) qui sont privilégiés. Une chaîne de valeur " classique " des jeux vidéo est ainsi esquissée avant de passer à l'évolution des chaînes de valeur dans le contexte actuel de multiplication des supports et surtout d'entrée en force d'Internet dans cette industrie depuis le début des années 2000. C'est l'émergence de nouveaux acteurs qui est ainsi soulignée venant modifier quelque peu les rapports de force déjà existants.
