Abstract

L'émergence de l'industrie du multimédia, reposant sur la convergence de trois industries intégrées verticalement (télécommunications, informatique et médias), a soulevé un très grand intérêt à la fin des années 1990 et suscité de nombreuses questions : comment cette nouvelle industrie serait structurée ? Quels types d'acteurs seraient à même de réussir leur positionnement dans ce nouvel environnement ? Une décennie plus tard, il semble intéressant d'analyser comment les chaînes de valeur se sont finalement structurées et les raisons pour lesquelles certains acteurs ont réussi dans ces nouveaux segments et dans ce nouvel environnement. La VOD constitue une parfaite illustration de transformation des chaînes de valeur et des rôles des différents acteurs observés plus largement dans les secteurs des TIC et des médias.
