Abstract

As an extension of the resource-based view, the "dynamic capabilities view" is an active theoretical framework used in the field of Strategic Management. In this article, we propose a bibliometric analysis of the field (1997-2008) and then complete the analysis by studying more precisely french and english productions during this period by comparing the literatures used by the authors. Our main aim is to identify the characteristics of both literatures and the current research trends in the field. Finally, this field is centered upon Teece et al. (1997) contribution, which can be considered as the main reference in both literatures. One of the main key elements provided by this analysis is the variety of the international and French approaches. The dynamic capabilities construct has been open to a variety of conceptualizations and interpretations. There seems to exist a lack of consensus about its definition. This paper tries to shed some light on the pattern of literature in this field by establishing a comparison between these two productions.
