Abstract

Depuis le début des années 90, de nombreux modèles de compréhension de la compétitivité des destinations ont été proposés et les recherches sur ce sujet se multiplient. Botti et Peypoch (2013) ont démontré l'intérêt des méthodes multicritères d'aide à la décision (Multi Criteria Decision Analysis – MCDA) dans l'opérationnalisation du modèle de Ritchie et Crouch (2003) pour l'analyse relative de la compétitivité d'une destination. L'objectif de cet article est d'appliquer la méthode ELECTRE III (Roy, 1991) pour évaluer les 7 pays des Caraïbes (la Barbade, la République Dominicaine, la Jamaïque, le Puerto Rico, l'Haïti, le Suriname et la Guyane) selon leur compétitivité touristique. Les scores donnés pour chaque critère dans le rapport publié par le World Economic Forum, et les poids de ces critères déterminés par Crouch (2011) ont été utilisés afin de présenter les résultats.
