Abstract

Ce chapitre No 8 du rapport d'un groupe d'universitaires a la Commission sur les "disharmonies dans les politiques agricoles, americaine et europeenne" concerne l'examen des distorsions de prix et de niveau de soutien entre les diverses matieres premieres de l'alimentation animale. Apres une description de la place des divers ingredients dans la ration et les couts de production, les principales distorsions sont analysees et le constat du remplacement des cereales par les produits de substitution importes est presente. Des simulations montrent ensuite les limites de politiques isolees comme une seule baisse de prix des cereales qui declenchent des effets d'expansion de l'elevage et reduisent les economies. le "paquet" contenu dans l'option 1 de l'etude Disharmonies est plus equilibre et donne lieu a des economies budgetaires substantielles.
