Abstract

Cet article en hommage à Pierre Llau, spécialiste en économie des finances publiques, présente à partir de l'ensemble de ses travaux sa contribution au développement de cet axe de recherche. Ses publications concernent à la fois le domaine de l'économie publique et celui de l'économie financière publique. Il montre le rôle important que joue l'Etat, à la fois agent non financier et agent financier, dans le fonctionnement de l'économie. Il est notamment amené à nuancer l'exigence de l'équilibre budgétaire cher aux néo-classiques et à insister sur le rôle du système de financement public, composante du système de financement de l'économie.
