Abstract

En son œuvre, Merleau-Ponty ne vise pas une définition close et absolue de ce que sont langage et sensible dans leurs rapports; la pensée merleau-pontienne est essentiellement un « retour aux phénomènes » où la pensée s'évertue à écouter le phénomène du sensible avant de parler « sur » ce qu''il doit être. Or, dans ce cheminement, la réflexion merleau-pontienne, celle de la structure du comportement et de Phénoménologie de la perception, achoppera sur le corps considéré comme le pivot des relations entre langage et sensible. Dès lors, l'objectif de cet article est de retracer le mouvement de la pensée merleau-pontienne visant à ressaisir les liens originaires qui unissent langage et sensible en le corps; mouvement qui, in fine, conduit MerleauPonty à remettre en cause la place du corps pour fonder une philosophie de l'expression qui ne soit plus subordonnée à une phénoménologie de la perception.
