Abstract

Challenge of sustainable distribution channels in rural areas: the importance of the leader The objective of our work is to explain, from the leader's perspective in food distribution channels for remote rural areas, the existing barriers to efficient and sustainable solutions. The analysis of Caplog, a working group of distribution actors in the Massif Central, has enabled us to analyse in a qualitative and exploratory way the attributes of the leader. If the members share the vision of the canal and marketing expertise, the logistical expertise and legitimacy of the leader remain a hindrance to the sustainability of the proposed solutions. We conclude on the skills that actors should acquire to position themselves as true leaders of competitive channels.
