‘I want to quit’ : Étude ethnométhodologique d’une résistance ordinaire dans la série Friends

Abstract

Cette recherche s'attache à suivre en situation un comportement de résistance au marché selon une règle de méthode ethnométhodologique. Pour ce faire, elle se concentre sur une tentative de retrait du marché extrait de la série télévisée Friends. Cette recherche montre que la résistance est un processus complexe mêlant, en situation, discours et pratiques. Elle souligne le rôle de la narration des actes résistants comme ressource pour l'action et montre l'usage rhétorique des catégories mobilisées par les acteurs sociaux. Cette recherche conduit également à relever la symétrie de la résistance, dans la mesure où elle montre les possibilités pour les organisations marchandes de résister à la résistance des consommateurs. Pour finir, cette recherche montre le potentiel de l'ethnométhodologie pour fertiliser le champ des recherches sur la consommation.
