Une représentation française de la relation interculturelle : quel impact sur les compétences interculturelles des managers ?

Abstract

Le développement des compétences interculturelles dans les entreprises ne peut avoir lieu sans une réflexion sur la nature de ces compétences. Dans cette optique, cette recherche propose un angle d'étude inexploré jusqu'à présent en questionnant l'influence de la culture nationale sur les représentations en jeu dans la relation interculturelle. Cet article présente les résultats d'une étude qualitative menée auprès de managers français et internationaux travaillant dans des multinationales du secteur industriel. L'analyse d'entretiens de 62 managers a permis de faire émerger une représentation de la relation interculturelle propre aux managers français et de mettre en évidence l'impact de cette représentation sur leurs compétences interculturelles. Le prisme culturel proposé par cette recherche fournit ainsi un nouvel angle d'analyse des succès et des échecs interculturels.
