Abstract

Notre recherche porte sur la relation fournisseur/client dans le développement d'innovations de rupture dans le logiciel. La prise en compte des besoins des clients a été soulignée comme un facteur-clé de succès des processus d'innovation dès les travaux de Freeman (1982). Cependant les premiers clients risquent d'orienter le processus d'innovation vers des besoins très spécifiques. Dans quelle mesure le concepteur de l'innovation doit-il satisfaire ces besoins alors qu'il doit développer un produit destiné à un nombre significatif de clients ? Etudiant le cas d'un éditeur de logiciel, nous mettons en évidence un lead user dont la compétence porte sur les usages, qui contribue à la conception architecturale de l'innovation.
