Abstract

Dans une économie obsédée par le rendement du capital et la finance, peut-on ignorer les critiques que Marx fit du capitalisme, et dont la plupart conservent une troublante validité ? Il met le travail humain au cœur de la vie économique et sociale, ce qui rend ses analyses éclairantes pour sortir de la crise que nous connaissons aujourd'hui. Mais Marx est aussi le prometteur d'une transformation de la société dont la mise en œuvre fut un désastre. Est-ce à dire que ses critiques ne mènent à rien qu'à un fatalisme désespérant ? Dans Penser le travail avec Karl Marx, Pierre-Yves Gomez, spécialiste de la relation entre l'entreprise et la société et du rôle politique de l'entreprise, explique dans un langage simple et accessible la logique de la pensée de Marx. Il montre que le matérialisme de Marx l'enferme dans la certitude absolue que la transformation de la société se fera de manière automatique et mécaniste – ce qui s'est avéré une tragique impasse. Penser le travail avec Karl Marx invite ainsi à relire Marx pour renouveler notre regard sur le présent mais aussi pour refonder, de manière différente, notre espérance en une société plus juste, où le travail manifeste la dignité de la personne humaine.
