Abstract

Considering its contribution to implementation of circular economy, the WEEE reverse logistics may highly contribute to sustainable development. It finds its roots in a dense institutional environment, such as regulations dealing with the extented producer responsibility and dealing with the role of eco-organizations. This institutional context has a marked structuring effect on logistical patterns. In France, in accordance with these regulations, many logistical practices are now well-established routines; nevertheless tensions and new choices of optimisation for reverse logistics seem to arise. The paper highlights some results of existing experience and a few questions at issue. Whithout undermining the original objectives, the WEEE reverse logistics may benefit from some changes.
