Abstract

La question du sens donné au travail, dans la problématique plus générale de la transformation des métiers, est ici appréhendée dans le cas du métier de l'enseignant-chercheur manager. La démarche, réflexive, implique les auteurs de cet article au travers de deux études de cas d'enseignants-chercheurs engagés dans l'administration de leurs universités mais aussi dans la gestion de diplômes. Les résultats puis la discussion montrent les contours d'un métier en émergence, exercés par des individus entrepreneurs d'eux-mêmes, engagés au service du collectif, menant de front des activités plurielles difficilement séparables. La stabilité et la durabilité de l'enseignant-chercheur manager sont ardues à établir, les compétences mises en oeuvre et développées difficiles à cerner, ce qui constitue autant d'enjeux pour le gestionnaire des ressources humaines.
