Abstract

Economists have (almost) always considered peace as a given, especially since liberal thought dominates the methods and thoughts of economics. This was not the case in the past, with the moral, philosophical and economic analyzes of Adam Smith, Karl Marx or Keynes. In recent years, a group of economists have been reinterpreting the issue of international security in their analyzes like Kenneth Arrow, Kenneth Boulding, Lauwrence Klein, JK Galbraith, Jan Tinbergen, Amartya Sen, Walter Isard, Lester Thurow or Ron Smith . The economy can not ignore the conflicts it often causes or that it can avoid by deterrence. Human values must be privileged in light of the market values and the violence that these can engender.
