Des délocalisations "à l'américaine" en Europe ?

Abstract

Le débat sur l'américanisation du modèle sportif européen a été enrichi l'été dernier par une initiative de la fédération et de la ligue de football espagnoles : un club de première division pourra vendre à un club de troisième ou quatrième niveau son droit à participer à l'élite. Cette possibilité peut être perçue comme l'introduction en Europe d'un quasi système de franchise permettant de négocier l'accès à une compétition non plus sur les seuls critères sportifs mais aussi sur des éléments économiques et financiers.Les observateurs se sont empressés d'établir un parallèle avec le système de délocalisation d'une équipe tel qu'il est pratiqué dans les ligues fermées d'Amérique du Nord, donnant en cela une interprétation erronée du nouveau texte espagnol. Il s'agît alors de faire le point sur le système nord-américain afin de mieux mettre en relief toute la variété des délocalisations qui existent en Europe et de préciser, à notre sens quelques différences fondamentales de part et d'autre de l'Atlantique.
