Abstract

Several lessons on the international importance of Olympism can be presented: It is a means of universal communication, an interesting instrument in international relations between States and NGOs. At the heart of the clash of civilizations, it is an indicator of the power of states, it is also a means of protest and a diplomatic weapon. Finally, it is a considerable economic stake, with an unmistakable educational aspect.
