Revenus et pauvreté économique en agriculture au cours des années 1980

Abstract

L'hypothèse est faite qu'une pauvreté économique persiste dans l'agriculture, celle exercée à titre principal, au cours des années 1980, en raison en particulier de l'aggravation des contraintes macro-économiques qui s'imposent au secteur agricole. Après un retour sur les définitions de la pauvreté, sont considérés successivement les revenus agricoles, les revenus non agricoles, les dépenses de consommation, le patrimoine. De fortes présomptions apparaissent de l'existence d'une frange agricole très défavorisée même si 1% seulement des agriculteurs bénéficient du RMI, et si la pauvreté laborieuse de l'agriculture contemporaine diffère à plusieurs égards de la pauvreté non agricole.
