Abstract

Les changements religieux actuels paraissent contradictoires dans la mesure où d'un côté s'étale le constat bien connu de la baisse de la pratique, de la raréfaction du clergé (catholique) et de la crise institutionnelle, d'un autre côté s'élève la rumeur d'un retour du religieux, sans parler de l'importance de l'aggiornamento catholique des vingt dernières années, soulignée par Claude Grignon et André Rousseau. Les sociologues qui voyaient dans la sécularisation un processus linéaire d'autonomisation de la vie sociale par rapport au champ religieux, voire un évanouissement progressif de l'influence religieuse, sont conduits à nuancer ou à réviser leurs analyses.
