Le passage à la monnaie unique européenne : un défi pour les entreprises

Abstract

Le 1er janvier 1999, les pays admis dans l'Union monétaire européenne verront leurs monnaies se fondre dans une monnaie unique, l'euro. A cette date, la parité de chacune des monnaies par rapport à l'euro sera fixée définitivement. La politique monétaire unique sera alors définie et conduite par le système européen des banques centrales. Dans les développements qui suivent, nous nous limiterons à l'étude des conséquences pour les entreprises de l'introduction de la monnaie unique. Toutefois, avant de nous intéresser aux modalités pratiques de cette opération, nous analyserons les principaux avantages que les entreprises peuvent en tirer et les incertitudes qui subsistent.
