Abstract

Talks and politics about the mobility and the attraction of high-qualified people increase with the development of the knowledge-based economy. This article aims at quantifying and qualifying migrations of French graduates. From the case study of Poitou-Charentes region, we demonstrate that graduate mobility is quite low. Taking into account ‘return' and proximity effects further mitigate this mobility. Thus, regional levers for attractiveness seem limited.
