Abstract

En agriculture familiale, la main-d'œuvre permanente est principalement familiale. On s'interroge sur l'impact des tendances démographiques sur son évolution en Amérique latine. La région connaît, en effet, au contraire des autres zones en développement, outre une trajectoire quasi « lewisienne » de développement agricole, un avancement de sa transition démographique qui affecte les structures familiales et la fécondité. Ces tendances concernent également les zones rurales dans un nombre significatif de pays et peuvent affecter la composition des unités familiales, ce qui mène à une interrogation sur la durabilité du modèle de l'agriculture familiale dans la région.
