Abstract

The article provides some elements of interpretation of the development of neuroeconomics. Appeared in the early 2000s, it is based on recent investigative techniques of the brain to determine the cerebral correlates of economic behavior and consider underlying decision-making processes. Neuroeconomics thus highlights the cognitive and emotional factors grounding human actions. Facing the debate on the usefulness of neuroeconomics, the object also is to show by a few significant examples how it has enriched the field of investigation of economic theory highlighting experimental paradoxes and expanding the forecasts space.
