Abstract

External assessment of farmer's training This paper examines the extent to which more trained farmers (general education, initial and adult training) get better economic outcomes i) in choosing more favourable farming conditions (type of production, size, use of capital and manpower) and ii) in conducting more efficiently the operation of the farm. The results show that training has only a little influence on economic outcomes in both dimensions, but general education is positively associated to farmer's efficiency.
