Abstract

L'agriculture sarthoise s'inscrit dans le contexte d'un département en voie d'industrialisation. Industrialisation qui, on le sait, est surtout le fait de deux activités : l'automobile et la construction électrique et électronique. Ce développement économique a naturellement des répercussions sur l'agriculture. Il entraîne un fort départ d'actifs agricoles, en particulier d'aides familiales. Du coup, les exploitations s'agrandissent et aux modes de production intensifs se substituent des formes plus extensives de culture. On voit même s'étendre une nouvelle manière de travailler la terre : l'agriculture à temps partiel.* Quel est donc, dans ce cadre, l'avenir de l'agriculture en Sarthe ou, plus précisément, comment les agriculteurs de ce département peuvent-ils diminuer les risques d'une dégradation de leur revenu relatif ?
