Abstract

L'accompagnement actuel des personnes âgées fragilisées, c'est-à-dire confrontées à une pluralité de dépendances physiques et psychiques, est le fruit de transformations relativement récentes et diverses. La pacification des rapports sociaux depuis plus d'un demi-siècle, le développement des politiques sociales, des politiques de prévention des risques, notamment dans le domaine de la santé publique et l'édiction de nouvelles normes d'hygiène de vie ont permis un allongement sensible de la durée de vie.
