Les conséquences économiques du basculement démographique

Abstract

Cette contribution essaie de se demander qu'elles sont les conséquences du basculement démographique. Nos sociétés occidentales sont vieillissantes. Le premier temps se propose d'analyser les conséquences économiques stricto sensu. Quels sont les secteurs gagnants et les secteurs perdants? On peut anticiper sur un ralentissement de la croissance contrairement à la majorité des analystes. Dans un second temps, on explore les conséquences économiques et sociales lato sensu. L'explosion des dépenses de santé est inévitable, les retraites par répartition fortement menacées et un fort appel nécessaire aux migrants est, en conséquence, inévitable. On peut alors s'interroger sur la mobilité et anticiper la croissance de l'instabilité conjugale quand la perspective est de passer 60 ans avec la même personne. Enfin, sont envisagées les conséquences sociologiques et sur les mentalités: l'innovation sera ralentie mais, par contre, l'aversion devant le progrès risque de progresser. Comme l'enfant sera rare, l'enfant sera roi. Les entrepreneurs politiques, pour des raisons électorales, prendront partie pour les cohortes âgées.
