La critique de l'analyse du travail de Marx par Hannah Arendt : discussion et intérêt pour certains problèmes actuels en sciences de gestion

Abstract

L'objet de ce texte est une discussion de la critique qu'Hannah Arendt fait des conceptions de Marx sur le travail dans Conditions de l'homme moderne. Cette critique est en même temps celle de l'envahissement du travail et de la consommation dans les sociétés contemporaines au détriment de l'œuvre et de l'action (en particulier politique). Deux thèmes principaux sont abordés dans la discussion : celui de la théorie marxienne du travail productif et celui de la centralité anthropologique du travail. Hannah Arendt a minimisé l'intérêt du premier et n'en a pas présenté les véritables enjeux alors qu'il peut constituer une référence pour l'analyse des privatisations et de la financiarisation des organisations. Concernant le second, l'analyse marxienne semble plus entrer en résonnance avec plusieurs travaux récents en psychopathologie du travail à propos des « risques psychosociaux » que les conceptions arendtiennes. Les deux contributions philosophiques et leur mise en perspective réciproque dans l'ouvrage d'Hannah Arendt présentent en tout cas un intérêt certain pour une réflexion sur les problèmes du management contemporain.
