La fabrique contradictoire de l’Inde

Abstract

Au début du XXIème siècle, le monde bruit soudainement de l'émergence de l'Inde alors même que la fin du XXème siècle la déniait. Le monde redécouvre l'Inde par l'économie. Mais prenons garde qu'il n'y ait plus : un des grands systèmes du monde, un des éléments d'un nouveau système monde qui se met en place. L'Inde depuis la décennie 1980 a une croissance de 6%. Cela fait 25 ans qu'elle a engagé ses réformes de libéralisation ‘extérieure', faisant suite a une libéralisation intérieure initiée il y a également 20 ans. Depuis plus de quinze ans –depuis la fin des années 1990- ses grandes firmes conglomérales se sont restructurées. Cela fait près de 70 ans qu'elle construit un Etat indépendant, sa culture et sa société se modernisent depuis environ deux siècles du fait de débats et d'intellectuels et de politiciens indiens. Si l'Inde économiquement émerge, un sérieux déficit d'analyse dans la littérature francophone demeure. Une certaine difficulté à penser conjointement les modernisations économique, politique et sociétale de l'Inde persiste.
